Between the Marienkirche, the town hall and the Kröpeliner Straße visitors will find the Hanseatic Market inviting you to explore the characteristic specialities of the Hanseatic towns. For example regional delicacies form the Dutch Hanseatic towns or culinary delights from the fish bar from Hamburg together with a glass of wine from the French town La Rochelle. Salt was one of the most important trading goods during the Hanseatic period. Lüneburg presents a historic salt boiler, the Hanseatic League of Altmark shows how rope is produced and the Estonian Hanseatic manor „Olde Hanse“ presents craftwork form archaeological finds. The Estonian town of Viljandi has the unique offer to visit the igloo-sauna.
